Does Pam Bondi have thyroid cancer?

Yes. Axios was first to report the news, and Bondi confirmed it to CBS News, saying she was diagnosed after leaving her position as attorney general in April 2026. Bondi did not share any other information about the stage of her cancer.

Podcast host and former White House advisor Katie Miller “Pam has been quietly kicking cancer these past few weeks,” he shared on social media.

Furthermore, with Bondi’s new role on the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, J.D. Vance said she “has been an extremely valuable asset to the President’s team, and I’m happy for her and for all of us that she will remain engaged in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces,” according to CBS News.

What is thyroid cancer?

Thyroid cancer occurs when multiple cells grow in the thyroid, a gland located at the base of a person’s neck, according to the Mayo Clinic. A person with this type of cancer may not see symptoms at first, but signs may develop over time as the cancer grows. Symptoms include neck swelling and difficulty swallowing.

Fortunately, most thyroid cancers can be treated with appropriate treatment, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Bondi underwent surgery several weeks ago to fight the cancer, according to CBS News. In a separate statement to CNN, the politician said she was “doing well” despite managing a new health issue.
