'Deportation': Indian-American Suhali Vadula trolled after she said she voted for James Tallarico in Texas Democratic primary

Indian-American student and political leader Sohali Vadula, who also serves as national vice president of the College of American Democrats, faced a deportation call and massive trolling after she posted a photo of her mail-in ballot for the Texas primary.

“I mailed my ballot last week from Rhode Island. So proud to vote for @jamestalarico, my city representative!” Vadula wrote. James Tallarico won the Democratic primary by defeating Jasmine Crockett and will now go to the November election. “There is no Texan named Sohali Vadula,” one wrote. “there!” Vadula replied. “Indian voting in Texas from Rhode Island. Awesome,” another person posted. “You will never be a Texan or an American. Your family did not contribute to the history of this country. You came on a free ride and live your life on taxpayer handouts,” another wrote.

Republican activist Beau French, who is running for the position of Texas Railroad Commissioner, called for Vadula’s deportation. “That’s the Republican nominee for Railroad Commissioner. Sums up the current state of the Republican Party,” Fadulla replied. Vadula is a 20-year-old Indian American from Texas and a sophomore at Brown University studying international and public affairs. She holds leadership roles within the College Democrats of America, the official college outreach arm of the Democratic Party, including a seat on the Democratic National Committee’s College Democrats Council and participation on the Executive Committee of the Texas Democratic Party.

Jasmine Crockett conceded to James Tallarico in the Texas Democratic Senate primary on Wednesday morning. “This morning I called James and congratulated him on becoming my Senate nominee. Texas is poised to turn blue and we must stay united because this is bigger than any one person. This is about the future of all 30 million Texans and getting America back on track. With the primaries over, Democrats must rally around our candidates and win.”

“I am committed to doing my part and will continue to work to elect Democrats across the ballot,” Crockett said.
