A billboard unveiled in central Tehran showing US President Donald Trump and his family members atop coffins draped in the American flag has escalated Iran’s messaging against Washington, with the slogan “Blood for Blood” prominently displayed amid the ongoing conflict between the two countries. The Telegraph newspaper reported that the mural, which was installed in Palestine Square, depicts Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and their five children: Ivanka, Donald Trump Jr., Eric, Tiffany, and Barron above coffins placed against the backdrop of the White House. The billboard is the latest in a series of state-produced murals targeting Trump as military tensions between the United States and Iran continue to escalate. The parade is accompanied by the slogan “Blood for Blood,” which, according to the report, threatens retaliation for the American-Israeli strikes that killed the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several members of his family.

Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli raids on February 28. The attacks also killed his daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and infant granddaughter. Since then, photos of Khamenei and his relatives have been displayed across Iran, including during his funeral. The latest billboard comes days after another giant display in Tehran’s Enghelab Square depicting Trump lying inside a black open coffin under the words “We are killing Trump” written in Persian and English.

That mural showed Trump with his eyes and mouth closed, his hair disheveled, and his hands resting on a red tie. The words “In Memory of the Children of Minab” were written on the white graffiti on the casket, referring to the city in southern Iran where a raid hit a primary school on February 28.The Palestine Square wall has for years served as a platform for state-backed murals carrying anti-American and anti-Israel messages. Supporters of the Iranian government often gather there, waving Palestinian and Hezbollah flags.According to The Telegraph, the largest murals in Tehran were designed by the Oj Arts and Media Organization, which is linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The offers have been regularly used to oppose negotiations with the United States and advance the Islamic Republic’s regional, nuclear, and missile policies. The latest mural comes after several increasingly threatening displays across Tehran in recent weeks.

In addition to depicting Trump inside a coffin, another mural showed his face within a gun’s range, while another carried the message “Who’s next?”, under the name of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who died earlier this month. These offers come at a time when the United States is intensifying its military operations against Iran. Earlier this week, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said US forces carried out new strikes on Iranian command centers, air defense systems, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities, including targets near Bandar Abbas and Greater Tunb Island.Iranian officials repeatedly vowed revenge after Khamenei’s killing. According to The Telegraph, his son and successor, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, said that those responsible for this crime would not die “in peace in their beds.”The billboard also comes days after an Iranian-backed militia group calling itself the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced a $10 million reward for anyone who kills Trump, calling it retaliation for the 2020 U.S. drone strike that killed Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani and Iraqi militia leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.Trump previously warned that any Iranian attempt to assassinate him would be met with a “harsh and destructive” response from the United States.
