Three people were killed in a school shooting in the central Philippines on Monday, police said. The authorities arrested one of the suspects shortly after the attack and began a manhunt for the second suspect, who is still at large.The shooting occurred at around 9 a.m. inside a school in Barangay San Jose, according to local news agency Inquirer. The network reported, citing police officials.According to a preliminary report from Police Station No. 1 of the Tacloban City Police Office, officers responded immediately after receiving information about the shooting and found that eight people had been injured by gunshot wounds.Police said eight people were shot in the incident.

Three of them died, while five others were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. The authorities did not reveal the identities of the victims, saying that their families had not yet been notified.According to local media reports, police said one suspect, identified as a Child in Conflict with the Law (CICL) and a resident of Barangay San Jose, was arrested shortly after the shooting.The Tacloban City Police Office said a full investigation is underway to determine the sequence of events and determine the motive behind the attack. Authorities are also conducting follow-up investigations as they continue their efforts to locate the remaining suspect.
