Salman Khan's powerful new look steals the limelight at Lagaan bash; Kareena Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Imran Khan Lekha join the celebrations

One of Bollywood’s most iconic films, Lagaan, is all set to turn 25 years on June 15. To celebrate the milestone, Aamir Khan and director Ashutosh Gowariker gathered with the cast and crew of the Oscar-nominated classic for a grand gathering in Mumbai on Saturday.

While the evening was filled with nostalgia and memorable reunions, it was Salman Khan’s stunning new look that became one of the biggest talking points of the event.Salman Khan turned heads with his new tough avatar, which features short hair and a trimmed beard that reminds fans of his Tere Naam look. Dressed in a black leather jacket, tank top, ripped jeans, and boots, the star dazzled at the Lagaan 25 celebrations.

Aamir and Salman share a warm moment

As soon as Salman arrived, he was warmly received by Aamir Khan. The two stars greeted each other with hugs, exchanged smiles and happily posed for photographers. Their camaraderie has delighted fans, who continue to cherish their on-screen chemistry in the popular comedy Andaz Apna Apna. Even decades after the film’s release, the duo’s friendship remains a fan favorite.The celebrations also witnessed Kareena Kapoor Khan looking graceful.

The actress looked resplendent in a pink traditional outfit with intricate gold accents. The actress accessorized with emerald earrings, bracelets and an elegant bun, effortlessly blending sophistication and festive glamour.

Star-studded guest list

The celebration saw a host of Bollywood personalities coming together to honor Lagaan’s legacy. Those seen at the event included Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta, Sophie Choudhary, Vir Das, Sunil Grover, Zoya Akhtar and Shenaz Tracey.Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan was also present at the celebrations, while actor Imran Khan arrived with his girlfriend Lekha Washington. Aamir’s sisters Nikhat Khan and Farhat Khan were also seen attending the special evening, making it a memorable reunion for the Khan family.

Several members of the Lagaan team, including Rajendranath Zutshi, Yashpal Sharma, Aditya Lakhia and Akhilendra Mishra, were present.

Director Rajkumar Hirani, Ashutosh Gowariker and his wife Sunita Gowariker also joined the celebrations.Released in 2001, Lagaan remains one of the most popular films of Indian cinema. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and titled Aamir Khan, the sports drama received international acclaim and became the third Indian film to receive an Academy Award nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Family relationship of Aamir Khan

Apart from the star-studded guest list, the evening also turned into a family affair for Aamir Khan. The actor attended the event with his girlfriend Jori Spratt, where the pair arrived hand-in-hand and posed together for photographers.Kiran Rao also joined the celebrations along with their son Azad Rao Khan. Meanwhile, Aamir’s ex-wife, Reena Dutta, attended the celebrations on Friday along with her daughter Ira Khan and son-in-law Nupur Shekhari.

Reena played an important role in Lagaan as its executive producer, and is often credited for championing the ambitious project.Aamir was previously married to Reena Dutta from 1986 to 2002, with whom he has two children, Ira and Junaid. He later married director Kiran Rao in 2005, and the two separated amicably in 2021. They continue to take care of their son Azad.
