Odisha is all set to conduct state entrance exams, with authorities ensuring smooth and safe proceedings.

Talking about the preparations, Government Schools and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond said on Tuesday: “All preparations have been made to conduct the exams safely. The question papers also contain QR codes and watermarks.”
“This time too, the exams will be conducted very smoothly. CCTV cameras have also been installed. I want the students to get good results,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued important clarifications regarding the first board examination for Class 10. The council announced on Monday that attendance for the first exam is mandatory for all students.
In a letter issued on Saturday, CBSE said that students who missed three or more subjects in the first exam will not be eligible to appear in the second exam. The clarification comes after the board received multiple applications from students seeking permission to sit for the second examination for various reasons.
“It is imperative that all students appear for the first board examination and that all successful and eligible students will be allowed to improve their performance in any three subjects of Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Languages,” the letter said.
She also added, “If a student does not appear in 3 or more subjects in the first exam, he will not be allowed to appear in the second exam. These students will be put in the ‘repeat main’ category and can take the exam only next year in the main exams in February next year.”
CBSE has also clarified that students whose results in the first exam were ‘compartment’ will be allowed to appear in the second exam under the ‘compartment’ category. However, no additional subject study will be allowed after passing 10th class, and students will not be allowed to study independent subjects.
With strict security measures implemented by the state and CBSE strengthening rules, students across Odisha are gearing up to take Class 10 board exams, with clarity on eligibility and examination protocols. (that I)
