Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday appealed to chief ministers across the country to provide free bus travel facilities to students appearing for the National Eligibility Examination with Entrance Test (Undergraduate) NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 scheduled on 21st, saying candidates and parents are already facing financial and logistical pressure due to re-examination.In a video message shared on X, Kejriwal said governments must ensure that students reach their examination centers without difficulty and called for immediate support measures ahead of the medical entrance test.

Raising concerns about the impact of the re-examination, Kejriwal said thousands of families had to spend additional money on travel and related arrangements. He stated that many students will have to travel long distances to appear for the exam, adding pressure on families already dealing with uncertainty surrounding retesting.He said free bus travel on the exam day can provide immediate relief to students and parents and help prevent transportation-related issues from affecting candidates.Kejriwal also stressed that students should not suffer due to circumstances beyond their control and governments should provide all possible assistance during the examination period.
Bihar and Haryana join Punjab in expanding transport support
Referring to the steps already taken by the states, Kejriwal said that Bihar and Haryana have followed Punjab’s decision to provide free bus services to NEET UG re-exam candidates.
He praised the states for moving quickly and said the move would help make travel easier and safer for thousands of students expected to appear for the exam. According to him, such decisions can significantly reduce tension between candidates and their families.
A call for broader nationwide action ahead of exam day
Kejriwal urged other state governments to announce similar facilities ahead of the exam date, stressing that coordinated administrative support is necessary given the volume of re-exams.The NEET UG re-examination is expected to witness participation from candidates across multiple states, putting transportation and accessibility at the heart of the concerns of many families, especially those traveling from small towns and rural areas.
