Jio Platforms will invest with Reliance Industries $Rs 10,000 crore over the next seven years starting this year,” the head of India’s largest company said at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi on Thursday. “This is not an investment for speculation. It is not for chasing valuation. It is patient and disciplined capital for nation building.”

Ambani said that the biggest obstacle in the field of artificial intelligence is not the scarcity of talent, but the high cost of computing. “Jio Intelligence will build India’s sovereign computing infrastructure.” This includes gigawatt-sized data centers.

Ambani said that Reliance Jio had connected India with the Internet era and would now connect it with the Artificial Intelligence era.

“We will deliver intelligence to every citizen, every sector of the economy, and every aspect of social development. Jio will do this with the same reliability, scale and massive affordability that has transformed connectivity.”

The best of AI is yet to come, and AI could herald the age of super-abundance. He said the world is at a crossroads regarding AI, with one path leading to rare and expensive data controlled by AI, while the other ensures affordable and accessible AI.
