A Lego doll of Trump was seen catching fire at Khamenei’s funeral
Iranian state media circulated a video showing a Lego doll depicting the burning of US President Donald Trump, while mourners at the burial of Ali Khamenei repeatedly called for Trump’s death and burned effigies of the US leader.
The burning of the statue was a symbolic funeral for the American leader.
The clip fits into a genre sometimes called “Lego propaganda,” which is an AI-generated short animation featuring Lego-like characters that promotes narratives of the Islamic Republic. A group called Explosive Media, which is widely suspected of having ties to the Iranian government, produced a series of such videos that garnered millions of views during the conflict. One of the clips showed Trump with a large yellow head and a flaming buttocks, holding a sign that read, “Victory! I am a loser.” YouTube suspended Explosive Media’s account for “violent content” last week. The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the ban and described it as a move to hide “the truth” about the US-Israeli war on Iran.

The videos exploit American popular culture, portraying Trump as old, isolated, and prone to childish tantrums.
This genre represents a shift from traditional state propaganda to algorithm-optimized viral content designed for social media. The propaganda campaign came as Khamenei was buried on Thursday in Mashhad, his birthplace and one of Iran’s holiest cities, after six days of funeral ceremonies that attracted millions of mourners across Iran and Iraq. His burial prayer was led by Hussein Nouri Hamedani, a 101-year-old radical cleric. Throughout the celebrations, Khamenei’s son and successor Mojtaba Khamenei remained absent from public view.
