Amid the tension over Karnataka’s chief ministership starting in November 2025, Deputy Chief Minister DK Sivakumar has made fresh comments as uncertainty continues over what will happen next in Karnataka.

The leadership tussle between the Karnataka Congress for the post of Chief Minister began in November 2025 when the government reached the halfway mark of its five-year term. Along with CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Sivakumar, Home Minister G Parameshwara is also in the fray for the top post.

Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah was not too happy with repeated media queries on the issue of leadership change in the state and insisted that he and his deputy Sivakumar should abide by the Congress high command’s decision on the matter.

“Can’t you (media) ask anything other than this (leadership change issue)? You don’t ask anything else, only this. It’s been three months since you started this. Please don’t ask me this again,” Siddaramaiah said. PTI.

Earlier on Tuesday, Sivakumar criticized Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah’s recent comments supporting his father CM Siddaramaiah to continue in office, saying such public statements only weaken the party.

“There is no confusion. When others make statements or opinions on behalf of me or any MLA or minister, it damages the party. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has asked everyone not to talk about it,” he said, adding that the dates were expected to be finalized during the discussion.

He also said that everyone in the Congress party must comply with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharg’s instructions to “keep their mouths shut” and not harm the party with their frequent statements about the leadership.

“Any statement made by legislators, ministers or others for or against me will do more harm than good to the party. AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge asked everyone to keep their mouths shut a while back,” he was quoted as saying by the news agency. year.

He added, “Every day is a good day for me. Every day is a good start, a day of good news and a day of challenges. We face important challenges in solving everyday problems. We have to keep working even in the face of criticism.”
