Deni Benton, Jasmine Amy Rogers and Patina Miller will star in the Broadway premiere of the film. School girls; Or the play of African mean girls.

The play, written by Jocelyn Bioh, comes to Broadway after its world premiere Off-Broadway in November 2017. The story follows a group of students at Aburi Girls’ Boarding School in Ghana who are visited by a beauty pageant official (Miller) to encourage them to participate in the Miss Ghana 1986 pageant. The group of friends and its leader Paulina (Benton) are then consumed in preparing for the competition. But a new transfer student from America (Rogers) threatens to take the crown.
Benton returns to Broadway after starring in the title role Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 Revival 2022 in the forest, Along with Miller, a Tony Award winner Pippin. Both have appeared on screen, with Benton having a recurring role in The Dark Knight The Gilded Age And Miller V Mrs. Secretary. Rogers is a Tony nominee for the lead Pop! Musical Last season. She is currently playing the lead role 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Off Broadway.
Tony Award Winner Quinn Jane (Cats: Jellicle Ball) She joins the production team as costume designer, with Teresa L. Williams as scenic designer, Stacy DeRosier as lighting designer, Cody Spencer as sound designer, and Nikia Mathis as wig, hair and makeup designer.
Bioh and White previously collaborated on the film’s 2023 world premiere Jaja african hair braiding At the Manhattan Theater Club.
