The chase was then completed in 17.1 overs, with the hosts reaching 148 for two.South Africa captain Laura Wolfhardt scored 54 points and was supported by Sonny Loos who scored 57 points. The duo added 106 runs for the first wicket in 12 overs, putting South Africa in control of the chase.Wolvaardt built her innings by putting the ball into the gaps and rotating the strike regularly. She also hit a six off Sree Charani and reached her fifty off 30 balls, her 15th in T20Is.
At the other end, Loos focused on singles and doubles and scored six goals from Shreyanka Patel.Patel later dismissed both Wolfhardt and Loews, but by then the score was already in South Africa’s favour.
