NEW DELHI: Exciting KL Rahul produced one of the most extraordinary innings in IPL history, scoring an unbeaten 152 to guide Delhi Capitals to 264/2 against Punjab Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on a scorching Saturday.On a sweltering 41-degree afternoon, Rahul went on a PBKS bowling attack, hitting 16 fours and nine sixes in a career-high 67 balls at a staggering strike rate of 226. His knock now stands as the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in the history of the Indian Premier League, surpassing several elite names, and also ranks third overall in the tournament – behind Chris Gayle’s 175* and Brendon’s. McCollum 158*.

Rahul became only the third batsman in IPL history to breach the 150-run mark, and only the second Indian after Tilak Varma to score more than 150 runs in men’s T20s.
The innings also marked his fastest century in the IPL, coming off just 47 balls, bettering his previous best of 56.He was brilliantly supported by Nitish Rana, who scored 91, as the duo stitched a stunning 220-run encounter using just 95 balls – now the second highest partnership in IPL history. Their offense led DC to their highest total ever, with an astonishing 162 runs over 11-20, one of the most explosive deathmatch displays ever seen in the league.
