The SRM Hospital marked the 5,00,000th beneficiary under the Tamil Nadu government’s emergency trauma care scheme, ‘Nammai Kakkum 48’, at its Trauma and Emergency Department. Chengalpattu MLA M. Varalakshmi said the scheme ensures free and immediate treatment during the first 48-hours following trauma, irrespective of financial or procedural constraints. Hospital officials noted that the initiative has been crucial in providing timely access to life-saving care during the most critical early hours after injury.
