A 25-year-old fitness content creator and influencer known online as Masood Chandy was killed at his home in Hyderabad’s Golconda on Friday evening, police said.
The victim’s real name is SK Mehboob, and he was reportedly an electrician. The Times Of India newspaper, citing police, reported that he was beaten to death after a family dispute.

Mehboob ran a YouTube channel where he shared fitness related videos and had around 2.75 lakh subscribers. He has shared 746 videos on his channel. He can be seen in the videos wearing silver and flashing jewellery, hence the name ‘Shandi’ in his online name.
Killed by his brother-in-law?
Police said Mahboob was killed following an altercation that went wrong. His brother-in-law SK Sohail, along with two of his accomplices – Afoo and Jabir – entered his house on Friday around 3.30 pm, following which, they got into an altercation that soon turned violent.
“Mehboob sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot,” TOI quoted DCP Golconda Krishna Goud as saying.

According to the police, there were tensions between the Mahbooboon and Sohail families, especially after the latter married a woman more than a year ago. The woman, who belongs to Bada Bazar area of Golconda in Hyderabad, has a six-month-old baby.
The two families reportedly had disagreements over internal issues.
The victim also sent his wife and child to her parents’ house recently due to some dispute, which added to the tensions.
According to a senior police official, the accused allegedly attacked Mehboob with a rod. The accused died instantly. His body has been sent for autopsy.
All the accused are currently on the run, and the police have formed three teams to track down and arrest them.
The police have also registered a case of murder under the relevant section of Bharatiya Nyai Sanhita.
Many photos of Mehboob’s family crying profusely after his alleged murder have appeared on social media. HT was unable to independently verify the authenticity of the videos.
