Krishna Mohan has been given the additional responsibility of serving as interim general secretary until a new appointment is made, Treasurer Govind Dev Giri said.

The announcement comes after the Foundation accepted the resignation of General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra in accordance with its constitution amid the ongoing controversy over alleged theft while counting donations.

Who is Krishan Mohan?

Krishna Mohan has an extensive administrative and public service background. He graduated from Lucknow University, worked in the Atomic Energy Department and later joined the Indian Forest Service (IFS), retiring from the Maharashtra cadre after holding senior posts.

According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Krishna Mohan is currently involved in social service activities in Hardoi.

Following his appointment, Krishna Mohan said he would focus on strengthening the trust’s internal systems and ensuring that the alleged lapses are addressed.

After being given the responsibility, Mohan said there were “certain shortcomings” in the system that were being exploited by others and that his “primary endeavors would be to plug the loopholes and correct the errors.”

“I have been entrusted with the responsibility of discharging the duties of Secretary General on an interim basis until a new Secretary General is appointed. Whoever is found guilty in this matter, we will insist and remain firm in our insistence that he be given appropriate punishment according to justice. We are all deeply pained by the events that have transpired; everyone, including Ram’s fans, has suffered,” Krishna Mohan was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

He added: “I will do my best to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future. The prevailing atmosphere has distorted our image of trust to some extent, which has led to the emergence of a feeling of mistrust within the community. We will take all necessary steps to dispel this negative perception and rebuild trust within the community…” he added.

“hurt, sad”

Speaking about the outcome of the trust meeting, Giri said that they were “hurt” and “saddened” but accepted the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra.

“We are primarily distressed by the fact that such an atmosphere has been allowed to develop here. However, the reality is before us, and it is our duty to reflect on it. Therefore, even before the scheduled date, we gathered today in a state of deep contemplation and sadness,” he said.
