Tamil Nadu Revenue Minister K Sengottaiyan on Monday defended Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay against criticism over his limited media interactions, pointing out that the Chief Minister does not follow the convention of releasing daily statements or engages in frequent discussions unlike others.

Speaking to reporters at Chennai airport, Sengottaiyan announced that the Prime Minister will directly announce the necessary plans and measures to the people at the appropriate time and will interact with the media whenever necessary.

Responding to questions on the functioning of the current government, the Revenue Minister announced that the administration is not set to last for just five years, assuring that TVK chief Vijay will remain the permanent chief minister of the state.

“Everyone may have different opinions. However, this government is not a government that is meant to last only for five years. Our Prime Minister will remain the permanent Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,” Sengottaiyan said.

Responding to questions regarding the tragic sexual assault and murder of a 10-year-old girl in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu Minister for Revenue and National Disaster Management K Sengottaiyan said that the state government has initiated swift and decisive legal action under the direct instructions of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.

Speaking to reporters, Sengottaiyan confirmed that the accused have already been arrested in connection with this case, adding that intensive investigations are currently underway.

He also noted that the Prime Minister instructed the Director General of Police to personally supervise the investigation. The minister stressed that the administration remains committed to taking strict legal measures to ensure justice for the victim.

A 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and killed by a neighbor in Coimbatore on May 21, sparking public outrage and widespread protests across the region. The victim, who disappeared while playing near her home, was found dead near the lake the next day. After extensive investigations, the police arrested the accused and his accomplice within 24 hours of the incident.
