Ghaziabad: Following a fight with dhaba employees over food at a neighborhood restaurant in Khoda, Ghaziabad, late on Friday night, two people were fatally stabbed and another was injured, according to police.

The deceased were identified by police as Godar Nehru Vihar residents Sri Pal (25) and Satyam Kumar (26) (representative photo). According to Indirapuram Circle Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abhishek Srivastava, “We have detained several people, including the dhaba staff and owner, and they are being interrogated.”

The deceased were identified by police as Godar Nehru Vihar residents Sri Pal (25) and Satyam Kumar (26). Both passed away while receiving care at a Delhi hospital.

Around 10 p.m. on Friday, the men went to Khoda’s “Vishno Dhaba” and got into a verbal fight with the person serving them food, according to police officials.

“The man serving the food was slapped by the crowd during the altercation. They were then attacked with knives by the dhaba staff and others. The police transported the two men to a hospital in nearby Delhi after they sustained multiple stab wounds, according to the ACP.

According to the police, a third person named Anurag Kumar is under treatment in the hospital.

“We are investigating the incident to trace the people involved in the stabbing incident and find out the exact reason behind the attack,” the ACP continued.

Senior police officials also visited the spot late on Friday night.

“An investigation is in progress, and CCTV footage is being scanned in the vicinity of the incident. At first, there was a fight about something to eat. The investigation is underway. Nimish Patil, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for the Trans-Hindon Zone, stated that the injured person is no longer in danger.

An FIR will be filed at the Khoda police station shortly, according to the police.
