“It has become a trend that some people tried to damage the bridge and the wall of public property. This is unacceptable. We have registered another case at Basista police station. In Basista, some people came at night and painted a mural. Our investigations are underway to identify the person and we will take strict action.”

Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Charu Bamba, said Wangchuk’s condition is stable but she suffers from mild dehydration and weakness due to prolonged fasting.
“Sonam Wangchuk arrived at the hospital around 7:40 a.m. He is somewhat weak from prolonged fasting and is mildly dehydrated; otherwise, all his vital signs are stable. He is being examined and monitored continuously, and is being treated,” Dr. Bamba said.
Delhi Police said Wangchuk was taken to hospital in compliance with the Supreme Court’s directions and on medical advice due to his deteriorating health condition. Police officials said that maximum restraint was exercised during the operation.
Wangchuk has been on a hunger strike to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in nationwide examinations, including the NEET paper leak controversy.
The police action has drawn criticism from several opposition leaders, including leaders of the Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Samajwadi Party and Trinamool Congress.
Members of leftist student organizations also joined the protest organized by the Sarwar Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar.
CJP founder Abhijit Debaki announced that the protest would continue despite the action against Wangchuk and said he would continue his hunger strike indefinitely.
