Amidst the storm of the death of her daughter-in-law Twisha Sharma, retired judge Giripala Singh was seen feeding stray dogs. Outside her residence in Bhopal on Thursday, the morning after her anticipatory bail was canceled by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

In a video published by news agency ANI, she can be seen placing dog food on a tree opposite her house before returning to her residence.
Giribala Singh is facing criticism over the death of Twisha Sharma, the actress and model from Noida, who was found dead on May 12 at her marital home in Bhopal.
A major setback for Giribala Singh
In a legal setback for the retired judge, the Madhya Pradesh High Court canceled the anticipatory bail granted to her on May 15, three days after Twisha’s death.
“In view of the factual aspects of the case and the allegations leveled against the defendant, the anticipatory bail order dated May 15, 2026 passed by the 10th Additional Sessions Judge, Bhopal for the offenses punishable under Sections 80, 85 and 3 of the BNS, 2023 and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 is set aside,” the judge said. Devnarayan Mishra of the Supreme Court noted in a 17-page order.
Besides canceling the anticipatory bail granted by the court, this also allowed all the applications filed in favor of cancellation of Singh’s bail.
Twisha’s family lawyer welcomes the move
Senior advocate Anurag Srivastava, representing the victim’s family, intervened in the matter. “Finally justice has been done in Twisha’s case,” he told news agency PTI.
“Given that Gribala has been in judicial service for 36 years…if she has any respect for the law, I think prudence should prevail over her mind and she should tactfully surrender before the CBI and cooperate with the investigating agency in any further investigation.”
Earlier in the day, a Bhopal court sent Sharma’s husband Samarth Singh to the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Samarth Singh’s investigation team later reached Gribala Singh’s house in Katara Hills area to further investigate the case.
