The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday took Twisha Sharma’s mother-in-law, Gribala Singh and her husband Samarth Singh – both in the agency’s custody – to their Katara Hills home in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal to entertain the crime scene in the alleged dowry death case.

Videos from the site showed CBI officials using dolls and asking the two to explain what happened on the day of her death, May 12.
CBI officials, along with forensic and crime scene experts, asked Giripala and Samarth Singh to provide a detailed account of the incident, PTI reported, citing officials.
A video of the crime scene recreation showed a mannequin – said to weigh roughly the same as Twisha Sharma – being used to mimic the crime scene in the presence of Samarth and Giripala. The officials were seen asking the two to act out and explain the events after they found Sharma dead.
First, Gribala Singh, the former district judge, is seen explaining the subsequent events. She then turns to Samarth to discuss the incident in front of the agency officials. According to officials, the CBI team has also reportedly tried to put together a minute-by-minute timeline to understand Twisha Sharma’s death.
Twisha Sharma death and autopsy
The First Information Report filed in connection with the death of the former model-actress claimed that her husband, Samarth, brought her to AIIMS Bhopal after she died by suicide, according to his claim, at 10:20 pm.
On May 13, doctors at the hospital told police at 12:05 am that Sharma was brought dead to the hospital, following which a medico-legal case was registered with the police, the FIR said.

According to Twisha Sharma’s autopsy report, her death was due to “pre-mortem suspension” and her body had “multiple ante-mortem injuries”. To clarify, the deceased’s body bore injuries likely caused by blunt force.
After the post-mortem report and statements of Sharma’s family members, the police registered an FIR on May 15.
Twisha’s family alleges that she was subjected to torture and harassment over dowry
Twisha Sharma’s family alleged that she was tortured by her husband and mother-in-law over dowry. They were allegedly not satisfied with the dowry paid at the time of Twisha and Samarth’s marriage on December 9, 2025.
She was allegedly subjected to psychological torture and domestic violence, with her family members accusing her in-laws of pushing their daughter to take the extreme step.
On the night of her death, Sharma reportedly spoke to her mother at 9:41 p.m., less than an hour before she committed suicide.
During the phone call, Sharma’s husband was heard screaming and the call ended suddenly, the FIR said, quoting the statements of the bereaved family.
The family also alleged in the FIR that when they repeatedly tried to call Sharma, Gribala Singh answered the phone and told the deceased’s sister-in-law that she was “no more” and hung up on the call.
Gribala and Samarth Singh are in CBI custody
Meanwhile, in their anticipatory bail petition, Samarth and Giripala Singh alleged that Twisha Sharma was a drug addict and was mentally disturbed.
Samarth Singh had earlier told the Madhya Pradesh Special Investigation Team (SIT) that his deceased wife was sad after she had a miscarriage. During interrogation, he also claimed that he had given $7 lakh to Twisha Sharma.
Initially, Samarth Singh, who was named as an accused in the Twisha Sharma death case, filed a bail application before a Madhya Pradesh court. After days of argument, he told the court that he would withdraw his confession and surrender.
When Singh surrendered, the Central Bureau of Investigation took over the investigation and later arrested the husband of the deceased.
Twisha Sharma’s mother-in-law, former judge Giripala Singh, has been granted anticipatory bail by a Madhya Pradesh court. However, last week, the same court canceled Singh’s bail, citing consistent allegations, lack of cooperation, heinous nature of the crime, and failure of the trial court to consider the evidence as the main basis for setting aside the bail order of the Bhopal District Court.
The Central Bank of Iraq arrested the former judge on May 28. The next day, the Bhopal District Court sent Giribala Singh to five-day custody of the central agency.
