The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory stating that during Sunday’s Indian Navy Half Marathon, traffic control and diversions will be implemented on a number of important roads in the nation’s capital.
As part of Mumbai’s Navy Day celebrations, residents take part in the eighth WNC Navy Half Marathon in 2025. Around 15,000 runners are anticipated to take part in the Delhi Half Marathon, which is scheduled for February 1. The event’s goals are to encourage physical fitness, a healthy lifestyle, and unity between members of the armed forces and the general public. On February 1, the marathon will begin at the Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium at five in the morning.
The advisory states that from 4.45 am to 9 am, traffic on the designated route will be controlled. Depending on the crowd density, cross-traffic will be permitted, but emergency vehicles will be permitted to pass unhindered.

The Half Marathon (21.01 km) will begin at JLN Stadium Gate No. at 5.30 am. 1. Lodhi Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, Mathura Road, Subramania Bharti Marg, Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg, India Gate C-Hexagon, Marsad Road, and other roads will be traversed by Bhishma Pitamah Marg. Before concluding at the stadium, Central Delhi stretches.
Parts of Bhishma Pitamah Marg, Lodhi Road, Mathura Road, and nearby roads will be covered by the 10 km run that begins at 6.30 am and the 5 km run that begins at 7.30 am.
At a number of locations, including 4th Avenue-Bhishma Pitmah Marg Junction, Kotla Red Light, Seva Nagar Red Light, Mehr Chand Market Red Light, Arvind Marg-Lodhi Road Junction, Rajesh Pilot Marg-Amrita Shergill Marg, Subramania Lajpat Marg, and Marglajunela Marg Junction, traffic will be redirected as needed, according to police. Gumbad, Janpath-Maulana Azad Road, Mathura Road-Bhairon Road Junction, Pandara Road Junction, and close to Gol Dakkhana, among other places.
For the East-West and North-South corridors, alternate routes have been proposed. It is recommended that passengers make travel plans well in advance if they plan to travel along Ring Road, Ashram Chowk, Sarai Kale Khan, IP Flyover, ISBT Kashmir Gate, Dhola Kuan, AIIMS Chowk, ITO, Connaught Place, and Naraina.
According to the situation on the ground, more action will be taken, the police said.
