“I seek your permission to file a formal complaint with you for redress against AITC Lok Sabha member Kalyan Banerjee, who has repeatedly verbally abused me within the Lok Sabha,” she wrote in the letter obtained by HT.

“This misogyny has been directed against many women members and they must be punished,” Dastidar wrote to the Speaker.

The complaint comes a day after Dastidar resigned from all organizational positions in the… Trinamool Congress, including the president of the party’s women’s wing. She referred to disagreements with the party leadership and “deep mental conflict and long thinking.”

Dastidar explained that she will continue as a member of Parliament and will remain within the party as an ordinary worker.

The Bersat MP also skipped key events in the party and publicly raised his concerns about the party’s internal performance. She was seen attending an administrative meeting chaired by… Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari despite the objections of the TMC leadership.

In her resignation letter, Dastidar described her tenure as women’s wing president as an “important chapter” in her political career.

“But it is with great sadness and concern that I request to resign from the post of All India President She wrote: Trinamool Mahila Congress along with organizational positions, committees and other responsibilities of the party.

“Inappropriate behaviour” by the party MP

At the time, without naming Banerjee, Dastidar referred to the behavior of “another uneducated and impudent party MP” who she said had not examined her alleged behavior towards a woman and had not received adequate support from senior leaders.

“It is not worth remaining in a situation where the inappropriate behavior of another uneducated and rude MP toward a female MP cannot be stopped, or the cooperation and sympathy of senior leadership cannot be obtained,” she wrote.

Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar alleges corruption in TMC

earlier In an interview with Hindustan Times, Dastidar criticized the party’s performance and said her removal as chief whip of the TMC Lok Sabha was “tyrannical”.

“It would have been better if she had informed me in advance. Instead of being authoritarian, it would have been better if she had adopted a democratic process,” Dastidar said, referring to party chief Mamata Banerjee.

Dastidar also admitted corruption within the party structure.

“This is definitely a major reason for the defeat of TMC. Corruption is a closely related issue. “The harsh reality is that these elected people at the lower level, be it panchayat or municipal level, were extorting money and indulging in all illegal activities,” she said.

However, she defended the grassroots workers, saying many of them “worked hard and honest for the party” despite being affected by corruption allegations involving local leaders.

When asked if she expected a split within the party, Dastidar told HT at the time: “I don’t think there will be any major split.”
