Thieves break into the house of Twisha’s mother-in-law, Gribala Singh; Her family fears the crime scene has been tampered with

Amid an ongoing investigation into the death of model Twisha Sharma, thieves on Saturday broke into the Bhopal home of her mother-in-law, Gribala Singh, who is currently jailed in the case. While some valuables such as a gold necklace and some silver items were stolen, the thieves reportedly left behind one bag of the stolen items as they attempted to flee.

As cops investigate the theft, Twisha’s family has urged the CBI to secure all documents at the site, fearing a possible attempt to tamper with the crime scene, the news agency reported. PTI.

Twisha Sharma was a resident of Noida who married Bhopal resident Samarth Singh in December 2025. She was found dead in her matrimonial home on May 12. The case hogged national limelight after allegations of mental molestation and dowry torture at the hands of her husband and in-laws surfaced.

What happened in Gribala Singh’s house?

At around 2 am on Saturday, robbers allegedly broke into the house of Twisha’s mother-in-law, Gribala Singh. Singh’s brother, retired Colonel Ranveer Singh Bhadauria, was asleep at home at the time of the incident, according to police. PTI.

PTI quoted Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajneesh Kashyap as saying that CCTV cameras showed four accused entering the first floor of the Katara Hills residence through the back door, while two were standing outside the house below.

The police said that while the thieves managed to steal some items such as a gold necklace, some silver items, betel leaves and a slingshot along with some clothes, they panicked when they heard the sirens of police vehicles patrolling the area and fled, leaving behind a bag containing the stolen items.

While the police tried to arrest them, the thieves ended up escaping.

Twisha’s family fears the crime scene has been tampered with

After the robbery, Twisha Sharma’s family fears a possible attempt to tamper with the crime scene. The family’s lawyer, Anurag Shrivastava, urged the CBI to secure all documents found at the site.

While the investigation is still ongoing, police denied that the thieves stole any files or documents.

Gribala Singh, her son and Twisha Samarth’s husband are the main accused in her death case. They were recently arrested in connection with her death and have been lodged in Bhopal Central Jail.

The matrimonial home in Twisha is being treated as a crime scene in the case, and Gribala and Samarth were taken there to entertain the crime scene a few weeks ago. It showed a mannequin, said to weigh the same as Twisha Sharma, being used to mimic a crime scene.
