“Today in Shahada, there was food poisoning during evening meal at Navbuddha Bastigrah, a boarding school run by the Ministry of Social Justice. Four boys fell seriously ill. They were shifted there. As soon as we learned about it, we started treating them there. Then, when their condition seemed a bit critical, we admitted them to a private hospital in Shahada. The remaining 50-60 boys were also brought there, and we are examining them. They are being treated there as well.” The boys have panicked a little, the rest are under control and their condition is stable and their relatives have also reached there, so there is no reason to worry, our civil surgeon, our police, all the government officers have reached there and the city dakkas from the private hospital have also reached there.

Rajendra Valvi, the taluka medical officer, said at least five boys suffered from symptoms such as vomiting, nausea and abdominal pain.

“The students of Navboda School were brought to the hospital this evening. There were 28 children, 5 of whom were referred because they were suffering from some serious discomfort.
