South Korean President Lee Jae-myung will visit New Delhi, where he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as the issue of shipbuilding and artificial intelligence tops the agenda of the talks. Lee received an official reception upon his arrival in the capital, Delhi, on Sunday for a three-day visit.

On his first visit to India, Lee said in a statement on social media: “Amidst the ongoing instability in the supply chain and the global economic crisis caused by the effects of the conflict in the Middle East, the Republic of Korea and India are increasingly emerging as vital strategic partners for each other.”
The Foreign Ministry said the talks will include discussions on “shipbuilding, trade, investments, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and critical and emerging technologies.”
Lee and Modi will also discuss “continuing constructive cooperation for peace on the Korean Peninsula and within the region,” South Korean National Security Advisor Wei Sung-lak said in Seoul ahead of Lee’s state visit.
Lee was received by President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the reception witnessed a lively welcome show by children dressed in traditional clothes, waving the national flags of both India and South Korea.
Highlighting the diplomatic importance of the trip, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the visit represents an “important milestone” in advancing the “special strategic partnership” between the two countries.
