New Delhi: The BJP intensified its attack on Congress as it likened its protest at the Amnesty International summit to treason and claimed that Rahul Gandhi was an inspiration to his party’s young workers participating in the shirtless demonstration as he often denigrates India.Union Minister Kiren Rijiju termed the protest a “big crime” and a “big sin” against the country, alleging that the Congress tried to tarnish its reputation when the world was applauding the Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit organized here under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He claimed that her frustration had increased so much over her repeated electoral failures, that she had become “anti-national”.He said in a press conference: “If Congress had even an ounce of sensitivity towards the country, it would have looked into itself and apologized.
Instead of expressing regret, Congress excuses the misconduct of its members.”He said there was widespread anger across the country against the opposition party which had become sad and angry at the progress the country had made.Taking a swipe at the Congress, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi slammed the protesters as “flagbearers of Rahul’s Lashkar” who tried to tarnish India’s image. “What the Congress did cannot be dismissed as mere negative policies. It amounts to treason,” Trivedi claimed.
He claimed that Rahul had so far been in the habit of making derogatory and insulting remarks about India abroad, and then added: “Now the flag bearers and sepoys of Rahul’s army are trying to tarnish the image of India in front of the foreign guests.”He claimed that the protest at the AI Summit venue was a “shameful display” of Congress’ “banality and nudity”.
