HT was unable to independently verify the authenticity of the video.

The incident was captured on camera

Based on the written complaints received from both parties regarding the dispute that occurred between the father-son duo traveling in the car and the wedding procession during the Gochadi event under Jahangirabad Police Station area, a case and Non-Cognizable Report (NCR) were registered at Jehangirabad Police Station, Deputy Superintendent of Police (City) Shankar Prasad said in a video statement, shared on the X handle of Bulandshahr Police.

Pratham Singh, who works in the Indian Air Force, was reportedly returning from a family engagement party with his father Jitendra Singh, a primary school principal.

According to Singh’s complaint, the wedding procession was moving along Jehangirabad Road with loud music and traditional ‘ghudchadhi’ ceremony.

According to the complaint, several members of the procession were carrying liquor bottles and dancing in the middle of the road, causing a traffic jam.

When Pratham’s father raised his voice to request passage, an altercation broke out, according to the complaint, which added that the situation escalated after the duo objected to the alleged abuse they had suffered.

The accused attacked the father and his son with sticks and iron bars, causing them to be seriously injured. They were taken to a nearby hospital, then referred to the area hospital to receive further treatment. The victims also claimed that during the assault a watch and a gold chain had disappeared.

The content of the complaint submitted by the other side was not immediately known.

The police reached the spot immediately after receiving information and registered a case against seven identified accused and some unknown persons. One of the accused was detained and booked on charges of disturbing the peace.
