RJD protests across India
The Bengaluru protest comes after a massive demonstration by the group at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on June 6. It was followed by protests in Pune in Maharashtra on June 11, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh on June 12, and Amritsar in Punjab on June 13.
The CJP will also hold a protest in Hyderabad in Telangana on Sunday morning, the same day as the Bengaluru event. Activist Sonam Wangchuk is expected to address the rally in Hyderabad.
Speaking during the Amritsar protest, Debki said: “We will all go to Delhi on June 20 and camp there till the time Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Don’t be afraid of going to jail. When I returned to India from the US, I also thought I would be put behind bars.”
The main objective is to provide equity to NEET and CBSE students. Accountability must be reformed. “The paper can’t keep leaking.”
During the Pune protest, Debke said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to choose whether “one crore students or an incompetent minister” was more important.
In Lucknow, Debki told the Hindustan Times: “We will continue to protest until the education minister resigns. I just want to appeal to the students to continue the peaceful protest and join the mass mobilization at Jantar Mantar on June 20.”
In the protest organized by the group earlier in Delhi, hundreds of people, mostly young participants, participated in the demonstration. Many of them wore cockroach masks and carried flowers. A number of school students, accompanied by their parents, also attended the ceremony.
