The SOG is investigating alleged irregularities in the NEET UG 2026 exam held on May 3, focusing on the ‘guess paper’ racket in Sikar where more than 100 questions allegedly matched the actual paper.

In a post on X, NTA said the testing was conducted under “full security protocol” at all centres.

The question papers were transported in GPS tracked vehicles bearing unique, traceable watermark IDs, NTA said. The examination halls operate under AI-assisted CCTV surveillance from a central control room, with biometric verification of every candidate and 5G jammers switched on.

The agency said it received input on the alleged misconduct during the May 7 inspection.

“These inputs were escalated by the NTA to the central agencies on the morning of May 8, 2026 for independent verification and necessary action. What is NEET UG class in Rajasthan?

The Rajasthan SOG, under the leadership of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vishal Bansal, started looking into the racket after receiving inputs that a set of over 400 NEET UG questions circulated ahead of the exam had “striking similarities” with the actual paper, especially in biology and chemistry.

SOG is trying to trace who posted it and how they benefited from it. Because it has also been made available in the public domain.

Investigations are continuing Sikar and other districts, with the initial leads emerging 4 days after the May 3 exam, leading to complaints from students in Sikar. No FIR has been lodged so far, and the police are yet to detain or arrest anyone, though a few people have been questioned.

NTA updated that the investigation is still ongoing and the facts will be established by the agencies in due course.

“NTA will not pre-judge the investigation, nor determine its likely outcomes. Whatever the agencies determine – including findings that may require further action – will be transparently examined and disclosed in line with established procedures,” the agency said.

NTA Message for NEET UG Candidates and their Parents

Addressing NEET (UG) 2026 candidates and their families, NTA has requested ‘space’ for agencies to complete their work.

“The effort and integrity of the vast majority of genuine aspirants is not in doubt, and will not be undervalued. NTA recognizes the concern that reports of this nature can cause, and we request candidates to allow agencies space to complete their work. Any necessary steps will be taken in consultation with the Ministry of Education at the appropriate stage,” the statement said.

NEET UG remains one of the largest college entrance exams in India. It serves as a gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, and other allied medical programs across institutions in the country.
