This comes after the victim’s family demanded ““Yogi Adityanath’s model” of bulldozer action against the accused.

According to the agency’s report, a senior police officer said heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces remains in place to maintain law and order in the district, which has been divided into districts, sectors and sub-sectors.

Sources quoted by the agency said that civil authorities arrived in the area with bulldozers and demolished “only the illegally built parts” of the building, not the entire house.

MCD officials said the action was taken as part of “removal of encroachments” built on drains.

“Since the monsoon is approaching, we are removing illegal construction built on drains in the area as it obstructs the flow of water. The structure was built on drains,” a senior official from West MCD said.

A relative of the victim had previously demanded justice. “We want to use the Yogi bulldozer model and their unauthorized houses must be demolished and all illegal expansions removed,” he said.

The area was cordoned off, and police forces were deployed during the operation, as a bulldozer leveled parts of the building. Debris and dust filled the street as the building was demolished under the supervision of officials. Residents and onlookers gathered nearby as authorities continued the demolition.

The action comes a day after Prime Minister Rekha Gupta She condemned the murder and said Delhi had a zero-tolerance policy against such “heinous criminal and violent acts”.

The case of Utam Al-Najjar

On March 4, a clash broke out between two families in Delhi’s JJ Colony area Uttam Nagar after a young girl was playing with water balloons, one of which allegedly splashed on a Muslim woman. Tarun Kumar, 26, was killed in the clash.

The two families had known each other for the past five decades and had gotten into arguments over parking and garbage disposal, among other issues, police said.

The police said that they arrested seven people, and a minor has been arrested so far in connection with the case. Provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and murder charges have been added to the FIR.
