However, the DMK and Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are set to skip the meeting.
What’s on the agenda?
Congress leader KC Venugopal said that the agenda of the meeting will be revealed after it is held. He said that the opposition is discussing the current political scenario in India.
“The way the Government of India is overcoming the anti-democratic stances and the students’ issue. We have to discuss a lot of issues in this meeting. The India Alliance meeting is an important meeting,” Venugopal added.
Mamata in Delhi amid TMC woes
Trinamool Congress chief and former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived in Delhi on Sunday to attend the All India Caucus meeting.
Banerjee is already mired in crisis back home, especially after TMC’s disastrous loss in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. In the wake of the election results, her party has been embroiled in its own controversies, with 58 rebel MLAs appointing their own leader of the opposition in the state assembly. Rumors of a split in Mamata Banerjee’s party are increasing day by day.
In Monday’s meeting, Banerjee is likely to propose forming a united electoral front against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
Criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party at the Indian bloc meeting
BJP MP Manoj Teja said the India Caucus meets “whenever there is an election or a crisis or when they face a crushing electoral defeat.” He said that the opposition bloc “is of no importance.”
Meanwhile, BJP MP Sumitra Khan criticized the TMC and questioned the party’s value in West Bengal. “It is cooperating with Congress again. The TMC has effectively destroyed Congress, and now that you have cooperated with them, who will accept that?” he asked.

The recent defeat of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal also forced the opposition bloc to come together to counter the saffron wave in the country.
