Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday criticized the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh over the state’s power situation, alleging that the much-touted “Gujarat model” has failed.

Taking a further target at the BJP leadership, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said: “The coaches of the great leaders themselves have failed, so what can be expected from their followers?”
He also claimed that people were questioning the BJP’s response to the crises.
“The public wonders why BJP leaders raise their hands in surrender whenever a problem arises,” Yadav said in the post.

These statements come amid opposition criticism over electricity-related issues in parts of Uttar Pradesh during the current summer season.
Yadav also shared a news report on the “failure” of UP Power Minister AK Sharma, a former Gujarat cadre IAS officer, in managing the energy situation in the state.
