The main measures taken by the agency to prevent leakage of papers include banning telegrams and transmission of question papers by the Israeli Air Force, among others. Check the list of measures taken here:

1. Temporary ban on Telegram

The Government of India has temporarily blocked Telegram in India till June 22, 2026. The decision to ban Telegram has been taken in the interest of public order, in response to systematic use of the platform by cheating rackets to cheat candidates appearing for the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination.

2. Keep the question paper authors in isolation

The authorities have placed all those involved in preparing the question paper under strict lockdown until June 21, 2026. According to a report by The Times Of India, paper preparation workers, supervisors and translators have been housed in a secure, undisclosed location and have been barred from any contact with the outside world. Paper preparers are not permitted to use cell phones, laptops, and personal communication devices. Internet access and external communications were tightly controlled.

3. Indian Air Force is transferring question papers

For the first time, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has been given the responsibility of imparting NEET question papers. This step comes as the authorities intensify their efforts to ensure a safe and error-free examination process after the original examination was canceled due to allegations of a paper leak.

4. The paper is accompanied by police, under CISF guard

As per an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), dated June 7, once the papers leave the source, they will be escorted by the state police and guarded by CISF and CRPF personnel throughout their journey – from the origin centers in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to the 551 hub cities where the test will be conducted. The two forces provide personnel from their specialized units. However, the number of CAPF personnel participating in the exercise remains unclear.

5. Multi-layer monitoring system

NTA has established a multi-layered security framework with continuous monitoring across the screening process. Senior officials hold regular review meetings to identify and eliminate weaknesses. More than 5 lakh security personnel are deployed at the examination centres.

6. Biometric verification and facial recognition

Exam centers are equipped with biometric attendance systems and advanced technologies such as facial recognition and biometric verification. Real-time CCTV monitoring is also integrated into the process.

7. More stringent verification of candidates

Candidate identity verification, document verification and inspection procedures have been strengthened. Authorities have been instructed to closely check access cards and identity documents.

8. Suppress rumors and fake leak claims

NTA has repeatedly warned students against believing the claims regarding the leaked papers and stated that no one can access the question paper before the exam. Legal action has been threatened against individuals who spread misinformation or attempt fraud.

The admit card for NEET-UG exam has been released and is available on the official website. The retest will be conducted at various locations across the country in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The exam will be conducted in one shift – from 2 pm to 5.15 pm.
