A 22-year-old Flipkart delivery agent has been arrested after a woman alleged that he barged into her apartment in Bengaluru on the pretext of using the bathroom before exposing himself to her, police said on Sunday.

Police identified the accused as Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat.
Flipkart said it has fired the employee and is cooperating with the investigation.
Flipkart said in a statement that it removed the delivery agent from the service immediately after the incident was reported. The company said: “We are deeply disturbed by this incident and offer our full support to the customer. The customer’s safety is non-negotiable. The individual involved has been terminated with immediate effect, and we are fully cooperating with the police investigation.”
According to the complaint, the delivery agent arrived at the woman’s apartment to deliver an online order. After delivering the package, he asked to use the bathroom, claiming it was an emergency. The woman, who was alone in the house, refused the request and advised him to seek help from neighbors instead.
The police said that the accused ignored her repeated refusals, took off his shoes and entered the apartment without her consent. After using the bathroom, he allegedly exposed himself before leaving the building.
The woman later described the incident in a social media post, saying she had made it clear repeatedly that she did not want a stranger inside her home.
“I said no several times, but he simply wouldn’t listen. When a woman says ‘no,’ that should be the end of the conversation. No one has the right to break into another person’s home without permission,” she wrote.

She said the incident made her feel afraid in her home. She added: “This incident left me in a state of severe shock. I no longer feel safe even inside my home.”
After the post received widespread attention online, the Bengaluru Police contacted the woman, after which she filed a formal complaint.
Whitefield Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sidulu Adavat, said that the police registered a case under Sections 75, 79 and 329 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused.
“Based on her complaint, we registered a case under Sections 75, 79 and 329 (2) of the BNS and arrested the accused, identified as Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat, 22. We produced him before an ACMM court on Sunday, which remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days. Further investigations are still underway,” Adavath told HT.
Flipkart said all delivery staff undergo background verification and training before joining. “Although such incidents are extremely rare, we have zero tolerance for such behaviour. We are also reviewing our safety protocols to enhance customer protection,” she added.
