The report added that bomb disposal teams and police dog teams were sent to the campus and are currently searching the building.

More details are awaited.

The latest threat comes just days after a similar email was sent to the Delhi Mayor’s Office last Wednesday. Although this alert was later declared a hoax, it led to a comprehensive search operation by personnel from Kamla Souq Police Station, along with bomb disposal teams and dogs.

Early this morning, several schools in Chandigarh, parts of Punjab, the Punjab and Haryana Secretariat and the Ferozepur District Court received bomb threats via e-mail.

The threats, allegedly sent by a group called the Khalistan National Army, led to evacuations and searches with bomb disposal teams and dogs.

A man has been arrested for sending more than 1,100 fake bomb threats across the country

The wave of hoax bomb threats has risen sharply since last year. Earlier this month, Delhi Police arrested a 47-year-old man from Mysuru in Karnataka state for allegedly sending over 1,100 fake threatening messages targeting schools, high courts and government offices across the country.

Police identified the accused as Srinivas Lewis, who was arrested from his rented accommodation on Thursday after a joint operation involving Delhi Police and local teams.

Officials said repeated threats led to heightened security measures, evacuations and disruption of routine work in multiple locations. “These threats led to tightened security and evacuations and disrupted normal functioning in many institutions. In one such case, a Delhi High Court judge also filed a formal complaint after receiving a threatening email,” an officer said.
