In a new announcement, Delhi Police has called on citizens to be careful while sharing information on social media. Police added to X on Thursday that reports of a female protester’s death at Jantar Mantar were untrue.
“We have been informed that the woman is alive and is currently admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital. The treating doctors have confirmed that her condition is stable and she is out of danger,” the notification issued by Delhi Police read. Follow live updates of the CJP protests here
“Delhi Police urges all citizens to be cautious while consuming and sharing information on social media. Responsible digital behavior starts with verifying facts through official channels before forwarding any content,” the police wrote on social media.
RML says a woman in the ICU was taken off a ventilator
As HT reported earlier, 21-year-old Sakshi, who was injured during Monday’s protest at Jantar Mantar and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, has shown significant improvement in her condition.
A bulletin issued by the hospital said: “She has been taken off the ventilator and is breathing on her own. She is conscious and responding to commands. MRI scans of the brain and spine were normal.”

“Some people fell, resulting in a stampede-like situation. Sakshi got stuck in the crowd, and we quickly picked her up. Two MBBS students helped perform CPR near the office. Sakshi appeared to be in a critical condition and was not responding properly,” said Abhay, a DU student who helped take her to the hospital.
