Sharing the pictures on X, Ranka said, “BJP k Gunde.” He claimed that all the accused had been identified and belonged to a “national party.”

He added: “All these scoundrels will be exposed.”

Earlier in the day, Debke was on his way to speak at the rally when chaos erupted. As he was being carried on the shoulders of supporters, some miscreants in the crowd pulled his scarf, slapped him several times, and tried to pull him down, as seen in videos obtained by Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Following the attack, Debke said that only cowards resort to violence, and that he would not raise his hand against anyone, no matter how many attacks occurred.

“You call me a Pakistani, you call those gathered here Pakistanis, and you even call journalists asking questions Pakistanis. But we will not be intimidated by such tactics. We will continue to raise our voices for the youth.”

“I was assaulted while entering the protest site. No matter how many attacks occur, I will not raise my hand against anyone. Cowards resort to violence. I will not remain silent,” Debke said in a post on X.

In a video message later, DeBakey said the attack was a way to distract people from the underlying issue and urged his supporters not to be distracted.

“These are all tactics and methods to intimidate us, threaten us and distract us from the issue. We should not be distracted from this issue at all. Our only demand is for Dharmendra Pradhan to resign. Because of the injustice done to the students and the student suicides, he should resign. Even if you attack us once or ten times, even if you slap us once or ten times, we will still say that Dharmendra Pradhan should resign. So don’t get distracted. Focus on focusing on the issue… No matter how much they raise their hands, they will not We respond with violence. Our movement is peaceful, and we will continue it with peace and love.”

“And to the haters, I want to say: I wish you a speedy recovery.”

CJP state spokesperson Abhishek Jain Bittu also accused the administration of failing to prevent the incident.

“The manner in which this attack took place raises serious questions about the role of the police and the government. Instead of stopping the anti-social elements, the administration allowed the situation to unfold. The conduct of the Rajasthan government and the police is condemnable and action must be taken against the officials involved,” he added.

“The administration deliberately timed the protest at 3pm in June, apparently to dissuade people from gathering in scorching temperatures,” Ranka told HT.
