While reviewing investment proposals during the second day of the 6th District Collectors’ Conference here, the Chief Minister stressed the need for proactive efforts by collectors to bring investments into the state.

“Steps must be taken to ensure that investments coming into the state are stopped quickly. If investments come, employment opportunities for local youth will increase,” Naidu said.

He pointed out that increased investments will lead to an increase in per capita income throughout the state.

Naidu said that the government is developing Visakhapatnam, Amravati and Tirupati as economic development zones to accelerate industrial and economic growth.

According to the Chief Minister, Industries Minister N Yuvaraj will supervise Visakhapatnam district, Special Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration Suresh will supervise Amaravati, and Special Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration Mukesh Kumar Meena will take charge of Tirupati.

He said the officials would take responsibility for industries, investments and economic development in their regions with close coordination with the district collectors.

Naidu instructed the collectors to review investment proposals regularly and ensure that projects are stopped quickly by expediting approvals and completing land allotment.

He stressed that industries can begin production quickly only when water supply and basic infrastructure are ensured.

Highlighting the infrastructure development, Naidu said that an industrial park has been designed at Orvakal where facilities, including the airport, have already been set up.

Koparti village in Kadapa district should also be developed into a major industrial area in the coming years, he added.

The Prime Minister instructed the collectors to hold district-level meetings on investments and take the initiative to attract industries based on local opportunities.

He also announced that regional rankings will be introduced based on speed of doing business to create competition among collectors.

Naidu claimed that during the previous YSRCP government between 2019 and 2024, investors were reluctant to come to the state due to policies.

He claimed that an auto battery company had set up its office in Tirupati but had to move out under the previous administration.

According to Naidu, the lands allocated for industries during the previous TDP government between 2014 and 2019 were allegedly used for other purposes by the previous government.

Naidu said that a Hyderabad-like ecosystem is now being planned across Andhra Pradesh to promote balanced development in all regions.

He noted that if it is not possible to establish industries in some areas, sectors such as tourism, information technology, small and medium enterprises or agriculture should be strengthened.

The Prime Minister said development strategies should be designed based on the strengths and advantages of each region to attract investments.

The TDP supremo also directed the collectors and ministers not to focus only on their own areas but work for the overall development of the state.
