The Metropolitan Police said on Saturday that a 26-year-old man of Indian origin was stabbed to death in a knife attack in the Southall area of ​​London. The man was identified as Gurbhaj Singh.

Police said they were called on Wednesday at 12.41am by the London Ambulance Service to reports of a stabbing on North Road, near the junction with Dormer’s Wells Lane. There they found two injured men who were treated by paramedics.

Among them, Singh was declared dead at the scene. Police said he was attacked with a knife. The other man is in his thirties and was discharged after receiving treatment at the hospital.

Police arrested seven men, most of them in their twenties and late thirties, at the scene on suspicion of murder. However, six of them were released without any further action after the initial investigation, and the seventh person was granted bail to return at a later date.

Police are urging witnesses to speak

Following the brutal murder, Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command, urged anyone who witnessed what happened at the scene and has not yet spoken to police to come forward and do so.

“I would urge anyone who has CCTV covering the area – or was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to police – to come forward and speak to police,” she said.

“Homicide detectives continue to investigate the tragic death of Mr. Singh, and my thoughts remain with his family and loved ones,” Foxwell said.

She added that police believe he was “assaulted” outside a shop at the intersection of North Road and Dormer’s Well Lane at around 12.30am on Wednesday.

Police continue to investigate the murder and have provided support to Singh’s family. The motive behind the deadly attack and the circumstances that led to it have not yet been confirmed.
