An explosion was heard outside the headquarters of the BJP’s Punjab unit on Wednesday, after which police teams reached the site.

The incident occurred after 5 pm in Sector 37 in Chandigarh, and there were no reports of major damage following the blast, according to senior BJP leaders.

Police teams arrived at the site and cordoned off the area. Staff are investigating the cause of the explosion. Ashwani Sharma, former BJP president in Punjab, took to X to confirm the incident and also shared photos of the aftermath.

“…The explosion was likely outside the Punjab BJP office, Sector 37 in Chandigarh. About 30 minutes ago. Police are finding out the cause of the explosion,” Sharma said. More details are awaited.
