Six candidates from the DMK, AIADMK and their allies filed their nominations on Thursday for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections.

They included four from the ruling DMK and two from the opposition AIADMK. It included two veterans, Trichy N Siva (DMK) and M Thambidurai (AIADMK).

Prime Minister M K Stalin accompanied all the four candidates during the filing of papers on the last day of filing nominations for the biennial elections on March 16.

After nominations are vetted on March 6, elections will be held on March 16 if necessary.
