Partly cloudy skies and rainfall during this week are not expected to prevent the maximum temperature from rising, which is expected to reach 44 degrees Celsius by the end of the week, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to forecasts, light to very light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and active winds, is expected on Monday afternoon or evening, as well as on Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms are also expected Tuesday afternoon, with skies remaining partly cloudy for most of the week.

This comes after a short respite after rain on Friday.
The maximum temperature in the city on Sunday reached 38.5 degrees Celsius.
The rise in temperature despite thunderstorms is because the weather activity will remain isolated, said Mahesh Palawat, vice president of Skymet Weather. He explained: “Northwesterly winds are expected to continue over northwest India, including Delhi and the National Capital Region. There will be no widespread rain and thunderstorms over northwest India. For this reason, a gradual increase is expected over the next few days.”

Meanwhile, the city saw high humidity on Sunday, ranging from 38% to 81%, which led to a rise in the heat index, also known as the feel-like temperature.
On Sunday at 5:30 pm, the city’s humid temperature was 26.07 degrees Celsius. A humid temperature reading above 32°C can significantly impair the human body’s ability to cool itself, while 35°C is considered the theoretical limit for survival. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday and is expected to reach 30 to 32 degrees Celsius by Saturday. The normal minimum temperature according to IMD for June 15-19 is 27.5°C and for June 20-24 it is 28°C.
Al-Qaeda in Iraq “moderate”.
The air quality in the city deteriorated on Sunday, after it was recorded in the “satisfactory” category for two days. Al Qaeda in Iraq’s 24-hour average rating was 151 on Sunday, in the “moderate” category.
On Friday, the average air quality index (AQI) was 73, marking the cleanest air quality day since September 5 last year, when it was 67, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) bulletin at 4pm.
