The Karnataka Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is investigating the accused $Shivam Associates, in a Rs 2,400-crore investment scam, on Wednesday sought information from actor Sunny Leone about payments linked to her appearance in a film produced by the prime accused in the scheme, even as authorities maintained that the notices did not indicate any wrongdoing on the actor’s part, officials familiar with the matter said.

The CID is examining the movement of funds linked to Shivam Associates and its promoter Shivanand Neelannavar, who is accused of raising money from 407,000 investors through unauthorized deposit and investment schemes.

Leon has been paid $Rs 1 crore for performing the song ‘Dingara Billi Naanu’, in the 2023 Kannada film hero, produced by Neelannavar, officials familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
