A 25-year-old technology worker living in Hyderabad died by suicide after she left her home, entered a temple naked and then jumped into a pond, police said on Saturday. According to police, she was reported to be suffering from mental health issues.

The woman was living with her mother in Pirzadiguda, Hyderabad, while her father was living in Visakhapatnam after marital disputes between the couple.

The woman was earlier working in Bengaluru before shifting to Visakhapatnam, police told the news agency PTI.

The mother and daughter had visited Miyapur before the accident

On July 17, the woman and her mother traveled to Miyapur near Hyderabad to inspect a double-bedroom apartment they were planning to buy, police said. After returning home later that day, the two went to sleep in separate rooms.

During the night, the woman allegedly locked her mother’s bedroom from the outside before leaving the house. She then went naked to a temple and later jumped into a pond, police said.

The body was recovered and the family was informed

The police received information about the incident on Saturday morning and recovered the woman’s body from the pond.

After the autopsy, the body was handed over to her mother. The police also informed the father of the deceased woman about the incident.

A police official said the woman was suffering from mental health problems. The official added that the deceased woman and her mother were suffering from phobias and anxiety-related fears.
