A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday morning, officials said, with no immediate reports of casualties or property damage.

The tremor occurred at a depth of 5 km at 8:57 am. (Representative picture)According to the National Center for Seismology, the tremor occurred at 8:57 am at a depth of 5 km. The intensity of the earthquake is classified as mild.

Itanagar-based Center for Earth Science and Himalayan Studies Seismology Department technical officer Naylam Sunil confirmed that the district felt light tremors.

“So far, there are no reports of loss of life or damage to property,” the official said.
