A four-year-old social media post by Abhijit Deepki, founder of the Kokruche Janta Party (CJP), in which he appears to be criticizing Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s mega ‘Bharat Guddu Yatra’ in 2022 has gone viral.

The post went viral at a time when opposition leaders are lining up to support the RJD’s protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, as well as activist Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike, which entered its 19th day on Thursday. Follow live updates regarding Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike here.
This also comes after the CJP itself said it had contacted leaders from across party lines, including Rahul Gandhi, and invited them to Jantar Mantar to show support to the protesting students.
Deepki’s old post on Rahul Gandhi is going viral
Dipke’s post on X, dated September 8, 2022, went viral on the social media platform. He had responded to a journalist’s post on Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Guddu Yatra’ and termed the rally a ‘travel vlog’.
For the unversed, the ‘Bharat Guddu Yatra’ was a massive rally organized by the Congress party led by Rahul Gandhi. It covered more than 3,500 km across 12 states and two union territories.
Responding to the post about the rally, Debke wrote on X: “Rahul Gandhi’s #BharatJodoYatra will end up being just a travel vlog.”
The post has received special attention recently, with Debke and the CJP appealing to opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, to join the protest and extend their support.
Social media users reacted to Dipke’s post
Netizens flooded the replies section, which helped the post go viral. “Criticizing someone is easy until you face the same situation,” one user wrote.
“Before you ask Rahul Gandhi to join your hunger strike, ask yourself one question. Where were you when he walked 3,750 km across India to challenge the BJP? Those who mocked him then have no right to ask for his support now,” another user wrote.
A third user commented: “Chairman of the Cockroach Party. Now trying to blame the potentially sad end of the hunger strike on RJ because he didn’t come to visit.”
CJP protest and Wangchuk hunger strike
The CJP’s protest against alleged irregularities in the NEET examination entered its 26th day on Thursday, while the Wangchuk hunger strike reached its 19th day.
The party’s medical bulletin said Wangchuk remains “extremely weak” and remains under 24-hour medical vigil.
Ahead of the Chalo Sansad march on July 20, the CJP announced a one-day mass hunger strike on Thursday.
On Tuesday, Trinamool Congress founder Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and AAP national conference coordinator Arvind Kejriwal urged Wangchuk to end his fast.
Kejriwal, who had earlier said that the AAP supports the CJP’s protest, is also scheduled to meet Wangchuk on Thursday.
