At least four people drowned and more than a dozen are missing after a tourist boat carrying 35 to 40 people capsized in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh.

PTI reported that the accident occurred on Thursday evening after the boat capsized in the Bargi River in MP district due to a sudden storm.

Anjul Mishra, city police inspector (Bargi town), said that about eighteen people were rescued from the capsized boat.

Mishra said 35 to 40 people were on board the river boat when it capsized due to a sudden storm. He added that four bodies were recovered from the river, while an operation was underway to track down and rescue the missing passengers, according to the agency.
