Director Chetan spoke about the message behind his upcoming film The India Story, saying that the project aims to encourage audiences to think more carefully about the food they consume every day.

According to the director, the story addresses an issue that directly affects families across the country and hopes to spark meaningful conversations. Chetan shared his thoughts while promoting the film in Mumbai alongside actress Kajal Aggarwal. He explained that the film aims to create awareness by presenting an engaging story rooted in a socially relevant topic.

Chetan explains the core message of the film

Speaking to IANS about the inspiration behind the project, Chetan emphasized that food safety is an issue that concerns every household.

He said the film explores why people need to be more aware of what reaches their dining tables. He said: “We work hard to put food on our plates. If there is poison on your plate, your hard work is in vain, putting your children and everyone close to them in serious danger. So, in this film, everything has been told, what is important, what is there and what needs to be done.”

This movie is for every family. It is for every Indian.” The director suggested that the film goes beyond entertainment by encouraging viewers to reflect on an issue that has wide-ranging implications.

The director says the film will leave the audience thinking

Chetan also shared what he hopes the audience will take away after watching the film. According to him, the story presents the seriousness of food-related issues while also offering possible solutions. He added: “So, after watching this movie, you have to pay attention to everything. You will not be able to sleep thinking about the seriousness of the situation in society when it comes to our food. You will be shocked. But the movie also tells you how you can ensure safety.”

The director believes that the narrative will inspire viewers to become more aware of the quality of food and the choices they make in their daily lives.

Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade Drive the movie

The India Story film stars Shreyas Talpade alongside Kajal Aggarwal, who plays the role of Advocate Archana. Her character teams up with an ordinary citizen in a legal battle against influential corporate entities accused of endangering public health. Blending courtroom drama with investigative story, the film examines issues such as pesticide misuse, food adulteration and their broader impact on society.‘The India Story’ is all set to hit theaters on July 24, 2026.
