Shomu Mukherjee’s legacy
Shomu Mukherjee has left a huge mark on Indian cinema as a writer, producer and director. Over the years he has been associated with many films, including ‘Ek Baar Muskura Do’, ‘Nanha Shikari’, ‘Chhailla Babu’, ‘Fifty Fiffty’, ‘Lover Boy’, ‘Pathar Ke Insan’ and ‘Sangdil Sanam’. It was during the making of ‘Ek Baar Muskura Do’ that he met Tanuja, a meeting that eventually developed into a lifelong relationship.
The couple married in 1973 and continued to build a close-knit family. They welcomed two daughters, Kajol and Tanisha, both of whom later entered the entertainment industry. Shomo died on April 10, 2008, of a heart attack at the age of 64. Even years after his death, Kajol often honors his memory with personal posts and heartfelt remembrances on social media.The unseen photo quickly gained attention online, with fans praising the warmth captured in the frame.
